
PESHAWAR, June 28: Four more polio cases were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and North Waziristan Agency in a single day.
The National Institute of Health reported that 10-month-old Fareedullah of Bannu had been tested positive for polio, raising number of polio cases to nine in Bannu district this year.
Four-month-old Tooba Shah of Peshawar district has also been confirmed to be a victim of polio. The poliovirus has also been confirmed in five-month-old Abdul Rahman of Mardan district.
The fourth polio case was reported from Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan Agency, where 28-month-old Jan Noor was confirmed as a polio victim.
The report also said that this year 88 polio cases were reported in Pakistan, including 15 cases from Peshawar and 66 from FATA region.
