JAMRUD, November 19: The Khyber Cricket Association has given sports kits to four cricket teams of Jamrud, including four bats, helmets, chest pads, thigh pads and gloves.

Head of Khyber Cricket Association, Mr Taimoor Afridi, presented sports kits to Government High School Surkamar, Government High School Ghundai, Government Higher Secondary School Jamrud and Government High School Shahgai at the end of inter-school sports competition.

Players were very happy to receive the kits. One of them told TNN, “The government should also give other sports equipment to the schools. We are underprivileged and we would better play if we receive such sports items. We are neither provided with sports goods in our schools, nor do we have them at our homes.”

Another student stated, “Sports items are very expensive, even a single bat costs 4000 or 5000 rupees. I am very thankful to the Khyber Cricket association for giving us the sports kits.”
