A case has been registered over an alleged attempt to sexually assault a girl who had left her home to buy ice cream in Peshawar. Police have taken the alleged suspect into custody.

According to police, the case was registered at Shahpur Police Station on the complaint of the girl’s father.

According to the FIR, the girl had left home to buy ice cream. When she did not return for some time, her father went out to look for her.

The father told police that when he reached the shop, he allegedly saw the shopkeeper attempting to sexually assault his daughter.

Police said the alleged suspect involved in the incident has been taken into custody, while further investigation is underway.

A few days ago, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and then shot dead in Kuz Kallay area of Madain in Upper Swat.
