Woman killed for honour in Nowshera

MARDAN: A girl was killed in the name of honour allegedly by her brothers in Mardan on Thursday.

TNN correspondent reported that the incident happened in Jamal Garhi, Sahibzada Killi area of Mardan where a girl, Uzma, was shot dead allegedly by her brothers inside her house. The victim girl had entered marriage according to her own choice recently.

The Rescue 1122 team reached the site of the incident after receiving information and shifted the body to Mardan Medical Complex for post mortem.

Police, on the report of Umar Shad, husband of the deceased girl, filed a case against the accused including Sabir and Mohobat Khan, who hail from Chakdara, and initiated investigation.

According to a report of the Ministry of Interior and National Police Bureau, 1,548 people were killed for honour during June 2014-18. The campaigners against honour killings also face very tough time and threats.

Target killings in North Waziristan

Two people were killed in separate incidents in North Waziristan tribal district on Thursday.

Local sources said a person Niaz Muhammad was killed in Manzarkhel village, while another person Maazallah was killed in Chashmai village. The sources said these were target killing incidents.

Nowshera firing incident

Two people lost their lives in a firing incident in Pabbi area of Nowhsera on Thursday.

Sources said Asif Khan and Abdul Jalil were killed in firing by unidentified armed men. The bodies were handed over to heirs after post mortem at District Headquarters Hospital.

Bodies found in Charsadda

Two bodies were found in Had Koroona area of Charsadda on Thursday.

Police said the two mutilated bodies were found in a car. The assailants had killed the two persons in the car and then set the car on fire due to which the bodies were mutilated beyond recognition.

Police were trying to identify the bodies.

Meanwhile, a passenger bus caught fire after hitting a power cable in Charsadda.

The bus travelling from Karachi to Chakdara caught fire after hitting the power cable. The rescue teams reached the site of the incident immediately and rescued all the passengers. No loss was reported in the incident.

Lakki Marwat accident

Two people lost their lives in a traffic accident in Lakki Marwat on Thursday.

Sources said a rickshaw collided with a flying coach in Hameedabad area after which the rickshaw caught fire. The deceased were identified as Gul Boz and Rifatullah. Another person, Shakirullah was also injured in the accident.
