Gold prices continue to rise across Pakistan, with another sharp increase recorded on the last trading day of the week.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold increased by Rs5,100 per tola on Friday, taking the new rate to Rs454,336 per tola. The increase follows a rise in international gold prices, which has also impacted the local bullion market.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs4,372, reaching Rs389,519.
Bullion dealers said that recent fluctuations in the global gold market and growing investor interest in safe-haven assets are among the main reasons behind the price surge.

They added that global economic uncertainty, regional tensions, central banks' monetary policies, and fluctuations in the US dollar continue to influence international gold prices, with even small changes affecting Pakistan's local market.
Meanwhile, the continued increase in gold prices has raised concerns among jewellery buyers. Traders said that higher prices have significantly reduced buying and selling activity, with most customers purchasing gold only when necessary.
Over the past three days, the price of one tola of gold has increased by Rs26,400.
