SWABI, October 31: Government servants in Swabi district have protested alleged violence of brother of KP Assembly speaker on additional assistant commissioner and demanded arrest of the accused.
Addressing a meeting at the Jirga Hall on 30 October, the representatives of teachers, patwaris and clerks’ associations said that Mr Adnan, brother of KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, had insulted the official.
They said the employees of various departments boycott duties for three days in the district if the accused was not arrested.
“We respect Speaker Asad Qaiser but we will always support our community. We condemn yesterday’s incident. We want solution of problems through talks, otherwise situation may deteriorate further,” said one of the speakers.
Mr Adnan has been accused of manhandling the additional assistant commissioner over arrest of a shopkeeper.
