PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to abolish the 9th class board examination and introduce board assessment exam of 8th class from next academic year.

A notification was issued in this regard, stating, in compliance with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary, “From the next Academic Year (2019-2020), the grade-VIII assessment will be replaced by formal Board Examination and in lieu thereof, the BISE examinations of grade-IX & X will be taken as composite.”

It was further notified for the information of all concerned that the new rule will be applicable to all registered institutions, both public and private, falling within the jurisdiction of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, (BISE) Peshawar.

The BISE Peshawar will conduct Middle Standard School Examination Class 8th from the year 2020 and onwards as per the National Scheme of Study / Curriculum 2006. The Class 9th and 10thexamination will be conducted as composite from SSC Annual Examination 2021 and onwards.

The notification maintained that there will be no separate board examination for class 9th (fresh) in the current session 2019-20.

Thus, the failed, re-appeared, cancelled or improvement candidates of class 9th of SSC Annual / supplementary Examination 2019 will appear in class 10th examination in 2020 as part wise scheme of studies.

The BISE Peshawar has also maintained that changes in the scheme of study, model papers and other relevant information will be communicated in due course of time to all the schools.

Excise, Taxation Deptt Abolishes Saturday’ Off For May, June

PESHAWAR: With the aim to facilitate the public to pay their tax on time, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise and Taxation Department has abolished the Saturday’s off during the month of May and June.

The steps have been taken to achieve the target, the authority has set. In this regard a notification was also issued on Saturday by Excise, taxation and narcotics control department in order to facilitate the public, their offices will now also be opened on Saturday.

It was further informed that the department office in district levels will also remain open on Saturday.
