
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has directed district health officers of tribal districts to verify degrees and diplomas of nurses, paramedics and technicians recruited on contract posts in the provincial health department.
The order was issued after the complaints that in tribal districts’ health centres, staff has been employed on bogus education degrees and diplomas during the previous FATA administration. Therefore, it was decided that the degree of nurses, paramedics and technicians be verified from the concern education institutions.
The official’s sources told the media that most of the complaints were received against the staff recruited on contract posts in tribal belt who are now being giving permanent status by the provincial administration but before any decision is taken in this regard, their degrees and diplomas will be verified.
In this regard, the KP government issued a notification to all the seven tribal district’s health officers with directives to complete the process of degrees and diplomas verification during the ongoing month.
PHC suspend salary of DC North Waziristan
PESHAWAR: A bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) has suspended the salary of Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan and was issued last warning to respond to court’s notice within ten days.
The order was issued by a two-judge bench comprising Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan and Justice Lal Jan Khattak while hearing a contempt of court case filed by a tribal elder, saying that DC has been issued several notices but he is not responding for the last seven month.
The elder of Miranshah has submitted the case the DC has taken three 300 Kanal land from his from the construction of college without giving them any compensation. The court was informed that the government has started construction on their land, but still, no progress has been made to compensate him for his precious agriculture land.
Justice Qaiser in his remarks expressed anger and said that despite the extension of regular laws and abolishment of Frontier Crime Regulation, it is very unfortunate that the officials in the tribal belt have still the same old mentality.
The bench after hearing the arguments suspended the salary of DC North Waziristan and directed him to submit a response to the case within ten days otherwise action will be taken against him as per the law.
