DIR, August 1: Hailstorm, rain and strong winds destroyed crops and gardens while roofs of six houses also collapsed in Upper Dir district.
The heavy storm and hail demolished the crops of wheat and rice and also badly affected the fruit gardens.
Electricity supply to several areas was disrupted and the roofs of many houses caved in, leaving about 12 people injured.
The Dir-Timergara road was also closed for five hours due to landsliding and increase in water level of the river, which caused problems for tourists and local residents.
