
PESHAWAR, May 27: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has asked the selected candidates for the government hajj scheme to submit their machine-readable passports through their respective banks to the ministry by June 10 for onward visa processing.
A notification said the authorities would accept only those passports, which have at least 11 months. The successful applicants can collect their deposited money from their respective banks by showing their identity cards and original bank receipt.
The ministry also said the candidates could check their status of selection and rejection of their application on the web page of the religious affairs ministry.
The Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Mr Sardar Yousaf, made public the names of 53,800 successful candidates for hajj 2014 and said the first hajj flight would take off for Saudi Arabia on August 27.
