PESHAWAR, June 26: The Peshawar High Court has endorsed the provincial government’s decision to divide Kohistan district into two parts and rejected the appeal of Kohistan Action Committee.
A few months ago, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had divided Kohistan into two districts. The Action Committee of Palas area later appealed to the Peshawar High Court against the decision.
The court’s Abbottabad circuit bench rejected the application of the Action Committee. With the formation of a new district, the number of districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached 27.
