PESHAWAR, December 1: The eighth International Defence Exhibition And Seminar, aka IDEAS, has started at the Karachi Expo Centre.
The Prime Minister, Mr Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, inaugurated the IDEAS. The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Defence Production Mr Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Defence Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif, Governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad and many other foreign ministers and political leaders of various countries.
Companies from various countries including China, Turkey, United States, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Syria, Thailand, South Africa, Romania, Great Britain, Ukraine, Singapore, Portugal, Lithuania, Malaysia, Lebanon, Korea, Italy, Germany, France, Qabras, Spain, Belgium have set up their stalls at the event. Russia is going to make its first ever appearance in the exhibition.
In the welcome address, the Defence Export Promotion Organisation Director General, Major General Agha Masood Akram, said that 256 foreign and 77 Pakistani companies were participating in the exhibition.
