BARA, September 23: The internally displaced persons, who have returned to their native Tirah valley, have demanded the government reconstruct their houses that have been destroyed in military operation and also provide them food and other relief items.
Tirah IDPs told TNN that about one year ago they had returned to their areas but till now the government did not fulfil its promises of providing 400,000 rupees per family compensation amount and construction of their homes.
They said that before arrival of the winter season, the government must fulfil its pledges.
Meanwhile, Political Agent of Khyber Agency Shahab Ali Shah has said that they had provided 25,000 rupees compensation to people for construction of houses and that a second instalment of the amount would be released soon.
He said that 400,000 rupees would also be paid in instalments.
