PESHAWAR, November 26: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said India will have to take first steps for resumption of talks with Pakistan.

Talking to media persons prior to attending South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit in Kathmandu yesterday, the prime minister said India is responsible for suspension of Composite Dialogue between the two countries and now the ball is in the Indian court to resume talks. He said the decision regarding foreign ministers level talks between Pakistan and India was made by him and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

The SAARC Summit, which has started today in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital,  is being attended by leaders of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.

Analysts say there is a possibility of a meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Narendra Modi during the Summit.
