In Peshawar, large-scale irregular appointments have been uncovered in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department, after which the department has initiated immediate action.
According to an official letter issued by the department, subject specialists have been appointed to headmaster positions in government schools across the province, while many headmasters have been serving in subject specialist roles for a long time—both of which are against the prescribed rules.
In response, the department has sought comprehensive details of these incorrect appointments from education authorities in all districts and has directed them to provide the required information within two days.

The Education Department has further clarified that if the details are not submitted within the given timeframe, the concerned posts will be considered vacant, and action will be taken against those responsible in accordance with the rules.
According to sources, the department has also issued a formal proforma for this purpose, which must be completed and submitted on time. The submitted data will be thoroughly reviewed in the upcoming Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting.
