PESHAWAR, June 20: The Pakhtunkhwa Ulasi Tehreek, an organisation working for the rights of Pakhtuns held a Jirga to discuss situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas.
On 19 June, the Jirga at the Nishtar Hall demanded of the federal government to declare the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province a war zone. The participants also asked the government to facilitate the IDPs from North Waziristan as per international laws.
The Jirga also demanded the natural resources of the province must be given to the provincial government and loadshedding must be ended here.
A member of the organisation, Dr Said Alam Mehsud, told TNN, “Our motto is that the Pakhtuns should control their own land and resources.”
