SWABI, October 1: A Jirga has resolved dispute between the additional assistant commissioner and brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly speaker in Swabi district.
A few days ago, Additional Assistant Commissioner Mr Khaliqdad Khan had accused Mr Adnan Khan, brother of provincial assembly speaker Mr Asad Qaiser, of abuse and torture over fining of traders.
After the incident, members of the teachers, clerks and other government employees staged protest rally and demanded arrest of Mr Adnan.
Yesterday a Jirga of local elders and politicians went to the house of Mr Khaliqdad Khan and told him that Mr Adnan repented what he had done.
Another jiga is scheduled to meet on 5 November to resolve the issue.
