Journalist Ehsan Sherpao’s Killer Sentenced to Four Death Penalties

The verdict was announced by Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Naz, who found Arshad Jamal guilty of shooting and killing Ehsan Sherpao on the morning of October 30, 2018.

CHARSADDA: A local court in Charsadda has sentenced Arshad Jamal to four death penalties for the 2018 murder of senior journalist Ehsan Sherpao. Additionally, Sikandar Khan, who supplied the weapon used in the crime, has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The verdict was announced by Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Naz, who found Arshad Jamal guilty of shooting and killing Ehsan Sherpao on the morning of October 30, 2018.

During the same incident, the convict also killed his mother, sister-in-law, and four-year-old nephew.

The court's ruling brings a long-awaited verdict in the case, which had drawn significant attention from journalistic and human rights organizations.
