KARAK, November 26: The district administration has issued a new price list to the shopkeepers in which the prices of various food items have been reduced up to 10-15 percent.
Deputy Commissioner of Karak, Mr. Muhammad Shoaib Jadoon chaired a meeting at his office yesterday that was attended by shopkeepers and traders of the area.
A new price list was finalised unanimously and it was made clear that those found violating the price list would face arrest and fine up to 5,000-50,000 rupees. On the other hand, people of the area welcomed the new price list and hoped that it would be implemented in letter and spirit.
“We are very happy over the new policy. If the prices are decreased even more that would lessen the burden on the poor to a great extent. People would be facilitated if the passenger coach/bus fares are also reduced, as we are still being charged on previous rates. We expect the government to reduce petrol and diesel prices as well.”
