JAMRUD, July 14: The Khasadar and Levies personnel in Khyber Agency have been facing problems because they say they are not given salaries regularly.
The personnel say the senior officials of FATA Secretariat and political administration of the agency had opened bank accounts for them six months ago but that even then they are not receiving their salaries on time.
“We don’t have sufficient food items at our homes because we have not got our salary this month. This issue needs to be investigated,” said a Khasadar.
They say they receive one salary through bank account and then the next salary from Hawaldar (head constable).
“I have not got salary for the previous month; my family is in trouble because we need to meet our expenditures in the holy month of Ramazan,” said a Levies soldier.
