JAMRUD, September 1: A Khassadar soldier has been shot dead and three others injured in Khyber Agency, administration officials say.
The Khassadar personnel were on duty in Jamrud Bazaar when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle. Mr Abdul Samad died on the spot while Mr Husain Shah Hayat, Mr Shah and Mr Saeed Noor were injured.
Jamrud is one of the three tehsils of Khyber Agency; the other two are Bara and Landikotal. Jamrud has been scene to violence and poor law and order since a long time. Most of the attacks on NATO supply containers en route to Afghanistan have taken place in Jamrud.
