JAMRUD, May 11: Elders of Kokikhel tribe, based in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency, have demanded the government to take action against a kidnapper gang operating in guise of security forces.
The tribal elders met Member National Assembly from the area, Mr Shahji Gul Afridi, on 10 May. The elders said the gangsters wearing security forces’ uniforms have kidnapped several people in recent months.
They said the security forces must take local elders with them while conducting raids in the area.
An elder said, “Local tribesmen may fire shots on the security forces mistaking them for the kidnapping gang, in case local tribal elders don’t participate in search operations and raids in the area.”
