The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has passed the Motor Vehicle Registration Amendment Bill by a majority vote, under which the public will receive relief in motorcycle and rickshaw registration fees for one month.
Government member Daud Shah presented the private member bill related to vehicle registration in the assembly.
Under the amended law, the transfer fee of Rs. 500 for motorcycles and Rs. 800 for rickshaws has been waived.
Additionally, the bill includes a provision to eliminate the fees for number plates and smart cards.

The Rs. 2,300 PRM fee for motorcycles and the Rs. 2,600 registration fee for rickshaws will also no longer be charged.
According to the amendment bill, the Excise Department has been directed to immediately implement the new fee schedule so that the public can benefit from instant relief.
Following these new amendments, the registration process for motorcycles and rickshaws has become more affordable, with a one-month exemption on all related fees, reducing the financial burden on the public.
