
PESHAWAR, December 3: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mr. Pervaiz Khattak has approved modern air-conditioned bus service for Peshawar.
According to a handout of the Chief Minister House, the modern bus service will be launched by a multinational transport company under public-private partnership. Under the first phase of the project, 150 Hino-Pak mini buses will be run in the coming six months from Chamkani to Hayatabad at the cost of over Rs20 billion. Fifty buses will be added to the service after every six months.
The handout says separate seats will be specified for men and women in these air-conditioned busses which will complete the distance from Chamkani to Hayatabad in 50 minutes. There will be 15 bus stops on the route and the bus will not be allowed to stop at any stop for more than two minutes.
In the initial phase, a staff of 800 trained people will be recruited for the bus service that will also include lady drivers.
