KP Government Launches Interest-Free Housing Loan Scheme for Low-Income Families

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has inaugurated the "Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme," aimed at providing interest-free loans of up to PKR 1.5 million for the construction, expansion, or renovation of homes for low-income individuals.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has inaugurated the "Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme," aimed at providing interest-free loans of up to PKR 1.5 million for the construction, expansion, or renovation of homes for low-income individuals. The initiative is part of the government's ongoing efforts to improve housing accessibility in the province.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Department of Housing and the Bank of Khyber at a ceremony held at the Chief Minister's House. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur graced the event as the chief guest.

Seven-Year Revolving Fund with PKR 4 Billion Budget

The Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme will operate under a revolving fund system for seven years, with an allocated budget of PKR 4 billion.

Beneficiaries will repay the loans over seven years, with a maximum monthly installment of PKR 18,000. Applicants must own the land on which the house is to be constructed or renovated to qualify for the loan.

Chief Minister's Vision for Quality Housing

In his address, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized that providing quality housing is a key priority for the provincial government. "The launch of Ehsaas Apna Ghar Scheme is a significant step towards fulfilling our commitment to ensuring quality housing for the underprivileged," he stated.

He further highlighted that the interest-free loans would provide access to better living conditions and contribute to the social and economic upliftment of low-income families. "We are committed to ensuring complete transparency in the loan distribution process, ensuring that only deserving individuals benefit from the scheme," Gandapur added.

The Chief Minister also mentioned other welfare initiatives under the Ehsaas Program, including Ehsaas Nojawan, Ehsaas Hunar, and Ehsaas Rozgar. These programs aim to empower the youth with skills, employment opportunities, and economic support.
