PESHAWAR, May 9: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi has imposed ban on government workers’ union in FATA.
The governor dissolved all organisations in tribal areas.
According to an official communiqué, no government employees working in FATA departments are allowed to form any group or union for solution to their problems.
A Pakistan media organisation quoted FATA Secretariat officials as saying that action would be taken against those who form any union.
The officials added that a special section would be set up at the Secretariat to solve problems being faced by the government employees.
Head of the teachers union in South Waziristan tribal region, Mr Azeem Mehsud, told TNN, “There is a union in every field and its purpose is to solve problems. Each time we forward a proposal to the authorities without involvement of our union, it is not given attention.”
