Bannu: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Information and Public Relations, Tariq Saeed Marwat, said that the ongoing security operation in Bannu is confined to specific areas of Miryan and Baka Khel, and there is no need for large-scale displacement.
He clarified that rumors regarding mass evacuation are baseless and urged citizens to rely only on verified information issued by the district administration and relevant authorities.
Marwat said counterterrorism operations are continuing in different districts of the province, adding that the government cannot leave the public at the mercy of terrorists.
He emphasized that restoring law and order remains the provincial government's top priority, with the district administration, police, and other law enforcement agencies working in close coordination.
He expressed hope that mobile network and other communication services would be restored within the next two days, easing difficulties faced by residents.
The Special Assistant directed the relevant authorities to ensure the timely provision of food, shelter, medical care, and other essential services to families affected by the operation. He said ration distribution is underway in the affected areas, while medical camps have been established to provide immediate healthcare services, with doctors and medical staff on duty.

He also instructed officials to further accelerate relief efforts, saying the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government stands with the people in every difficult time and will not leave affected families alone. He added that all available resources are being utilized to provide maximum relief to those impacted.
Marwat appreciated the performance of the district administration, police, and other security agencies, stating that all institutions are fulfilling their responsibilities effectively to protect lives and property and ensure lasting peace in the region.
He said that, in line with the Chief Minister's vision, the current year will be a year of development, stability, and peace. Although a few terrorist elements attempted to disrupt the peaceful environment in Bannu, the government and security forces are continuing effective operations against them.
He assured that all necessary measures would continue to ensure the full restoration of peace in Bannu, the early return to normal life, and comprehensive support for affected families.
He made these remarks during a visit to Bannu district, where he received a detailed briefing on the ongoing security operation, the overall law and order situation, and relief activities in the affected areas.
On the occasion, Bannu Division Commissioner Captain (Retd.) Khalid Mehmood and DIG Bannu Region Rab Nawaz Khan briefed him on the progress of the operation, security arrangements, protection of civilians, challenges faced by affected families, and ongoing relief measures. Deputy Commissioner Bannu Muhammad Faheem, Secretary to the Commissioner Saqib Khan, and other civil and security officials were also present during the briefing.
