Peshawar – In a major healthcare initiative, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to include kidney, liver, and bone marrow transplants in the Sehat Card program, providing these costly treatments free of charge to eligible citizens.
According to Provincial Information Adviser Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, the move aligns with the vision of the party’s founding chairman and marks a revolutionary step in public healthcare. The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.

In addition to organ transplants, the government will also cover the cost of cochlear implants. Plans are underway to soon include rehabilitation services for drug addicts in the Sehat Card program.
The Chief Minister has directed the Health Department to implement the necessary measures promptly. Furthermore, regulations have been approved to allow the use of cannabis plants for medical, research, and industrial purposes.
