PESHAWAR, September 2: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released three-month salaries of lady health workers (LHWs).

Deputy Coordinator of Lady Health Workers, Dr Shaida Hussain of the National Health Programme, said that in the near future a notification for the regularisation of health workers would also be released.

She said that they had contacted the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) for the payments of polio campaigns.

The Lady Health Workers Association president, Ms Ayesha, told TNN that they were always forced to stage protests for their salaries.

“We are facing problems. The Supreme Court has ordered authorities to give us permanent jobs but we are yet to be regularised. We always get salaries after protests,” she added.
