Peshawar: Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, has revealed significant progress in the investigations of the recent blasts in Nowshera and Bannu, stating that CCTV footage of both incidents has been obtained, and the identities of the suicide bombers have been confirmed through forensic analysis of their remains.
Providing further details, the IG said that the vehicles used in the Bannu attack have been tracked, and evidence suggests the involvement of foreign-manufactured weapons. Authorities are currently tracing the origin and supply chain of the arms to determine their source and mode of delivery.

Addressing the rising incidents of terrorism in Kurram, IG Zulfiqar Hameed stated that over 100 suspects involved in destabilizing the region have been arrested. He acknowledged that terrorism has now become a factor in the area. Still, he assured that a separate strategy has been devised to counter the threat, hoping to prevent any major future incidents.
He further announced that sustainable peace in Kurram is expected within the coming months. As part of this effort, the approval for the Safe City Project has been granted, and its implementation is set to be completed soon, marking a crucial step in improving security and stability in the region.
