In a significant move to counter evolving terrorist threats, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have introduced advanced anti-drone jamming technology, marking a proactive step toward modern security measures.
The first successful deployment of this system was carried out by Peshawar Police during the Youm-e-Ashura security operations.
According to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Qasim Khan, the anti-drone technology features a jamming system capable of detecting and neutralizing suspicious drone activity in the air.

He stated that the system can jam drones within a 3-kilometer radius, effectively rendering them inoperative.
CCPO Qasim Khan further noted that in recent months, terrorist elements have increasingly used drones in southern districts of KP, making the adoption of such technology a critical necessity.
This initiative follows KP Police’s recent decision to procure thermal drones aimed at enhancing nighttime surveillance during operations.
Inspector General of Police KP, Zulfiqar Hameed, emphasized that the threat of drone-based terrorism is growing, particularly in merged tribal areas and southern districts, making the integration of modern technology essential for counterterrorism efforts.
