MNA assures all-out facilities for Kuki Khel IDPs

BARA: A 30-member committee of Kuki Khel tribal elders of Upper Bara area met with the parliamentary secretary of Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) and Member National Assembly (MNA) Iqbal Afridi at his office in Bara on Sunday.

Kuki Khel tribe’s three sub-tribes of Tor Dera Sher Khel, Umar Khel and Ali Khel elders has demanded the government for emergency compensation and relief before their return to their areas. The asked Iqbal Afridi to conduct Emergency surveys of their war-affected homes and provision of education and health facilities should be made before they return to their native area after peace has been restored.

The tribal elders warned that if the issues of their return are not resolved immediately and all facilities were not provided then the will launch a protest movement against the government. Parliamentary Secretary of (SAFRON) and MNA Iqbal Afridi formed a six-member committee from all three sub-tribes and said that all their demands will be resolved on an emergency basis. “First you will be provided with all facilities and soon the return of Kuki Khel IDPs will be made possible to their own area,” Iqbal Afridi told the jirga members.

Dengue virus case surfaces in Alam Gudar

A young man was diagnosed with Dengue fever in Alam Godar area of Sipah on Sunday. Earlier dengue fever cases were reported from Shalobar area in Khyber district. According to details 15-year-old Salman son of Khalid Khan has been diagnosed with dengue fever a few days ago in Karigar Garhi area of Alam Gudar.

Talking to the media, Salman said that on September 2, he felt a sudden pain in his legs and fever while he was at the school. He added that he went to the hospital where after test he was diagnosed with dengue fever.

People in the area called on the health and elected representatives of the area for mosquito spray and other measures to counter Dengue virus on an emergency basis.
