BANNU, June 26: About 15 families have settled in the Bakakhel camp, Bannu district while most of the internally displaced persons of North Waziristan are either staying with relatives or living in rented houses.
“Facilities of power supply and water are scarce at the camp and there is much heat in this summer season,” said a North Waziristan tribesman staying outside the camp in Bannu.
Another man said, “The camp is located in a desert, we do not have vehicles while public transport is also not available there.”
However, FATA Disaster Management Authority chief Mr Arshad Khan says sufficient facilities have been provided at the camp and that those living there were satisfied and happy. He also said there was enough space for the displaced families at the camp.
