A tragic incident occurred in the mountainous area of Sarkhabi, Buner Road, Tehsil Rustam, Mardan, when lightning struck a gathering spot locally known as ‘Malang Khana’. The lightning ignited a massive fire that claimed the lives of five individuals.
According to initial reports, the identification of the deceased took nearly six hours. The victims were identified as two residents of Peshawar, two from Charsadda, and one from Surkh Dheri.

Police confirmed that the Peshawar residents were Imdad Bacha and Naeem Shah, while Hayat Malang and Ikram Baba hailed from Charsadda. Among the deceased was also Ali Baba, commonly known as Kabuli Baba, an Uzbek national who had recently been residing in Surkh Dheri.
