CHITRAL, May 9: People of Chitral district have demanded the government to take action against the shopkeepers who have created artificial shortage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, used for domestic purposes in the area.
Residents say the shopkeepers hid the gas cylinders after they learnt that the government was going to lower the price of the commodity. “When gas price is lowered by authorities, it is not available in the market then,” said a resident.
TNN correspondent says a number of hotels have been closed because LPG is not available to the food outlets. A resident said people have no option but to use firewood at homes.
