MIR ALI: A fierce gun battle between security forces and militants of a banned outfit in North Waziristan's Mir Ali tehsil resulted in the martyrdom of Major Hamza Israr and injuries to three soldiers.
According to sources, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) during which they arrested a suicide bomber and a facilitator. Reports indicate that the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group has claimed responsibility for the officer’s martyrdom.

During the clash, three suspected terrorists were also killed, while several others sustained injuries. The exchange of fire between the militants and security personnel led to significant casualties on both sides.
Security sources confirmed that the operation successfully neutralized key threats, and further investigations are underway to track down additional militant hideouts in the region.
