MALAKAND, May 28: Dwellers of mountainous areas of Malakand Sharbati and Shamozai have asked the government to reconstruct Bossaq Bridge in the area.
Local people told TNN that the bridge had been demolished in the 2010 floods. Ever since, children going to schools and locals on way to Batkhela bazar use a chairlift to cross the river. They asked government to construct the bridge as soon as possible.
A local elder, Malik Gula Noor, told TNN, “Many people suffer from diseases like appendix or others. We are unable to take such patients to hospital.”
Another elder, Malik Alam Khan, said, “It is unfair that several bridges demolished in floods were reconstructed but the Bossaq Bridge has been ignored. We request the authorities to reconstruct it forthwith.”
