A man was allegedly caught digging up the grave of a young girl and attempting to remove her body in Peshawar’s Badahbair  area. Local residents caught him and handed him over to the police.

According to police, senior officers took strict notice of the incident and directed Badahbair police to take immediate action. The police subsequently arrested the suspect allegedly involved in the incident.

According to local residents, the arrested suspect had allegedly been exhuming bodies from children’s graves. They said that some graves in the same cemetery had also been found disturbed some time ago.

Police said all aspects of the incident are being investigated and legal action will be taken against the suspect in accordance with the law.
