Karak: A militant was killed while his accomplice managed to escape after an armed attack on police in Banda Daud Shah tehsil of Karak. The police retaliated swiftly, resulting in the death of one assailant, while the other fled the scene.

Sudden Attack on Police Patrol

According to sources, the incident occurred in the Totaki area within the jurisdiction of Khurram police station. The Station House Officer (SHO) and his team were on a routine patrol when two suspicious motorcycle riders suddenly opened fire on them.

In response, the police engaged the attackers, killing one on the spot, while the second assailant managed to escape.

Weapons Recovered, Search Operation Underway

Police officials confirmed that the deceased militant owned an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and a hand grenade. Following the attack, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Karak reached the site with additional forces and launched a search operation in the mountainous region of Totaki to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

Militants Linked to Attacks on Polio Teams

Sources revealed that the slain militant was involved in multiple attacks on polio vaccination teams and police personnel. Meanwhile, security forces have intensified efforts to locate and capture the fugitive attacker. The body of the deceased militant has been shifted to the hospital for necessary legal procedures.
