The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rains across various parts of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, from June 20 to June 23. The expected spell is likely to bring relief from the intense heatwave gripping many areas.

According to the PMD, strong monsoon currents are expected to enter Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from June 20, resulting in thunderstorms and rainfall across most districts. The rains, which may continue intermittently until June 23, are likely to impact both upper and southern parts of the province.

The department has issued an advisory warning of potential flash floods in hill torrents and low-lying areas of KP, especially in mountainous and urban zones. Citizens have been urged to take precautionary measures and stay in contact with local authorities.

Rainfall is also expected in other regions, including eastern Balochistan, southern Punjab, and parts of Sindh during the same period. In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, thunderstorms and rain are forecast between June 21 and 23.

Meanwhile, the return of sea breezes in Karachi has led to a slight drop in temperature and humidity. The PMD also predicts rain in other parts of Sindh, particularly on June 22 and 23.
