The ongoing spell of monsoon rains has intensified across various parts of the country, bringing pleasant weather but also raising concerns about flooding and landslides.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, intermittent rain continues in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan. In Islamabad, further showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected.
The downpours have increased the risk of urban flooding in low-lying areas and flash floods in streams and seasonal nullahs. Mountainous regions such as Murree, Galiyat, Mansehra, and Nowshera are also under threat of landslides.
