Mumtaz alias Mumtaze, a highly wanted proclaimed offender wanted by Peshawar Police in 49 serious cases, is being transferred from Bahrain to Pakistan following an Interpol operation.

According to Peshawar Police, DSP Ijaz Nabi and DSP Ashfaq today took custody of Mumtaz alias Mumtaze from Interpol and the relevant authorities in Bahrain. The suspect has since departed for Pakistan under the supervision of police officials and is being transferred to Pakistan via Islamabad Airport.

A voice message and video received from Mumtaz alias Mumtaze also confirmed his return to Pakistan from Bahrain.

According to Peshawar Police, Mumtaz alias Mumtaze is the alleged head of an organized criminal network and is wanted in several serious cases, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, target killings, involvement with a land-grabbing mafia, illegal occupation of people’s properties, robbery, kidnapping, attacks on police, illegal possession of weapons, and spreading fear and panic among the public.

It may be recalled that Capital City Police Peshawar had earlier arrested Mumtaz alias Mumtaze in Bahrain through Interpol in connection with 49 serious cases.

The Peshawar High Court had already directed the CCPO Peshawar to ensure that the suspect is safely produced before the court, that his security is ensured during the investigation, and that he is subsequently transferred safely to jail.

Mumtaz alias Mumtaze’s return from Bahrain is being described as a significant development by Peshawar Police. Meanwhile, the suspect’s mother has expressed hope that, in accordance with the Peshawar High Court’s directives, Mumtaz alias Mumtaze’s constitutional and fundamental rights will be protected.
