
NOWSHERA, October 17: Several non-government organisations have started renovation work on 14 state-run schools after consulting the Education Department authorities in Nowshera district.
Inaugurating the scheme in Peshawar on 16 October, the National Rural Support Programme coordinator Mr Wilayat Khan said the scheme would cost approximately 20 million rupees.
“The scheme includes work on boundary walls, solar system, computer lab, slean drinking water and construction of washrooms at 10 school for girls and 4 boys’ schools,” he added.
The Provincial Education Minister, Mr Atif Khan, and other officials were also present the inaugural ceremony.
About the project, Mr Wilayat Khan told TNN, “These 14 schools are spread in 10 union councils. Fund for the renovation work would be provided by telecommunication company ‘Telenor’ and it would be supervised by NGOs ‘Plan International’ and ‘National Rural Support Programme’.”
He added that the scheme would be completed within one year.
