The Medical Superintendent of the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Charsadda has issued a show-cause notice to the Head of the Cardiology Department, Dr. Abdul Wali, over alleged negligence, the absence of doctors during duty hours, and failure to provide proper patient care.

According to the notice, at 8:45 a.m. on June 30, 2026, no doctor was present in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) or the Cardiology Outpatient Department (OPD), due to which a patient was unable to receive timely medical treatment.

After a video of the incident went viral on social media, questions were raised about the hospital's performance and administrative management.

The Medical Superintendent has directed Dr. Abdul Wali to submit a written explanation within 24 hours, warning that if the response is found unsatisfactory, departmental disciplinary action will be initiated against him in accordance with the relevant rules.
