WANA, May 20: Management of the Gomal Zam dam in South Waziristan Agency has rejected reports regarding fault in the powerhouse.
The Project Manager, Akhtar Hussain, told TNN that the dam was functioning and that it was generating 10 megawatts electricity.
He said that on completion of the dam, the authorities had signed agreement with contractors who would be responsible for any fault in the project till one year onward.
He said there was no fault in the powerhouse but that there was a minor issue which would be resolved soon.
The Gomal Zam dam project was completed last year at a cost of 20 billion rupees.
