In Landi Kotal’s Takia area of Khyber district, transporters blocked the Pak-Afghan Highway for all kinds of traffic in protest against the continued detention of Pakistani transporters, drivers, and vehicles stranded in Afghanistan for the past eight months.
Due to the protest, vehicles carrying Afghan families returning to Afghanistan were also stopped, causing long queues of traffic along the highway.

The protesters said that Pakistani drivers and vehicles have been facing severe difficulties in Afghanistan for several months, but the relevant authorities have failed to take practical steps to resolve the issue.

Speaking to the media, transporter Rukhman Zeb Afridi warned that if the government does not immediately ensure the return of the stranded Pakistani transporters and vehicles, the protest movement will be expanded further.
