PESHAWAR, July 25: The Federal Interior Minister, Mr Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, said on Friday that the Pakistan Army would take up security of the federal capital Islamabad from 1 August for next three months.
Mr Nisar told media that Article 245 of the Constitution had been imposed to boost security in Islamabad through deployment of the army.
About the long march of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) on 14 August, the independence day of Pakistan, the interior minister said they had not received formal request from the PTI leadership with regards to holding rally in Islamabad.
He said the administration would decide whether or not to give permission for the rally in Islamabad, once the PTI leadership files an application to this end.
