Pakistan carried out precise and calibrated strikes along border areas with Afghanistan, targeting hideouts and safe havens of individuals described as masterminds and planners belonging to Fitna al Khwarij, following a series of recent terrorist incidents in the country.

According to security sources, the strikes came in the aftermath of several attacks, including the assault on a Federal Constabulary post in Musa Darra on 9 June 2026, vehicle-borne suicide attacks on a military post in North Waziristan on 2 June 2026, and an attack on a police station in Bannu on 9 May 2026.

Officials said the operation was based on credible intelligence and involved selective and precise targeting of militant camps and hideouts. Four targets were reportedly destroyed, including a training centre, a hideout, an ammunition cache, and Marakiz linked to commanders identified as Aleem Khan Khushali and Akhtar Muhammad Jani Khel.

Security sources added that at least 26 militants described as “Indian-sponsored Khwarijs” were killed in the strikes.

They further stated that Pakistan has consistently sought peace and stability in the region, while maintaining that the safety and security of citizens remains its top priority.

The statement emphasized that the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate what it called foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
