LANDIKOTAL, September 15: Residents of Landikotal tehsil in Khyber Agency have demanded the government to repair the ultrasound machine and appoint a gynaecologist at the hospital.
Some of the residents told TNN that they had to visit private clinics although they paid much amount for medication in that way.
They said the labour room of the hospital had been assigned to a local lady health worker, who handles delivery cases. They said the delivery cases might result in health risks to the mothers and infants because the worker was not trained enough for the job.
When contacted, the hospital administration said they had sent the ultrasound machine for repair to Peshawar and that a gynaecologist would also be appointed soon.
