
ABBOTTABAD, July 3: Patwaris of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have ended their protest after talks with the provincial government authorities.
A Patwari is a government official responsible for maintaining records about ownership of lands in Pakistan.
The Patwaris in the province started their protest on 29 May for service structure and pay raise. On 2 July, a meeting was held between Minister for Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and office-bearers of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Patwaris Union. All the issues of Patwaris were discussed at the meeting.
The district president of Patwaris union in Abbottabad, Mr Hanif Gul Jadoon, told media that they ended their protest campaign after the provincial minister promised to solve their problems.
